Everyone Loves Wild Salmon, Don't They?

Global Scale Destruction

The movement to protect our communities, environment and wild stocks that feed our families and livlihoods against the growing spread of disease ridden insudtrial salmon feedlots is growing on a global scale at an increasing speed.  The Salmon Are Sacred movement has grown a lot in the past year.  Please join our conversation on facebook and browse through the many photographs. We hope you will be inspired to stand up and add your voice.

You should also check out Save Our Bays (facebook page) that formed because of the destruction happening on the East coast of Canada, especially to pollution of bays and loss of prime lobster habitat.

And In IRELAND  - Since January 2012 public notice
Global fish producer Marine Harvest is applying for aquaculture licence for a twelve to fourteen cage salmon farm at Shot Head, Adrigole, Bantry Bay.
please read and support www.savebantrybay.org
We are tourism operators, we are local fishermen, we are in the hospitality industry, we are residents, we are in favour of sustainability, we care for healthy wild life, we are deeply concerned about health threats arising from polluted water – be it in rivers or in the Atlantic ocean. We are friends of the environment of beautiful Bantry Bay. Last but not least: We are parents and we want to hand over this beautiful bay in good order to future generations.

This photo is in Bantry Bay.  And the facts page of their website states: "Cork’s coastal and inland waters are a major asset in terms of tourism. It is estimated that the marine leisure sector supports 14, 500 jobs, [compared to the 250 employed by Marine Harvest nationally]"

Follow and support the conversation they are having on facebook. The group is called  SAVE BANTRY BAY
