Starting at 10am (8am if you want to help set up) Wild Salmon people will be gathering at the Vancouver Art Gallery from all reaches of the province including the headwaters of the Fraser River and the coastal communities of North Vancouver Island. Wild Salmon are a connector. The message of this Rally is that Salmon Farms must get out of our ocean and our wild salmon must be protected. Nothing less is acceptable. This rally is also a celebration of our wild salmon and there is a number of dancers and musicians who will be helping to do that. Our schedule will be finalized this week but you can expect to see first nation youth, Ta'kaiya Blaney and Kalilah Rampanen sing and Josette Jim perform a salmon dance. You can help and spread the word by sharing the event as posted on facebook Wild Salmon Warrior Rally
The Cohen Commission begins looking into disease and aquaculture today (Aug 22) and the people want to know what the disease records of those 120 farms say. This rally is in support of the people working hard within that process to find the truth and who are standing up for our wild salmon. Posters can be downloaded and distributed or spread the word through your social network.
See you there
